Two scores that answer two different questions
The audit gives you an AI Visibility score and a Conversion Readiness score, each out of 100. They are kept apart on purpose, because one is a measurement and the other is an assessment.
The short answer
The AI Visibility and Conversion Audit is how every Deligatr engagement starts. It measures how often AI assistants name you when buyers ask real questions, and it assesses how well your pages are set up to turn the visits that arrive into conversations.
AI Visibility (0 to 100): measured
The share of real buyer questions where an AI assistant named you. The questions go through live searches and never include your name, because a question that names you proves nothing.
Conversion Readiness (0 to 100): assessed
The signals we can observe in your page markup: calls to action, forms, trust signals, structured data, mobile setup and image alt text. It is a read of the page, not a measured conversion rate.
Reading the score bands
Each score lands in one of four bands: Critical (0 to 20), Weak (21 to 50), Moderate (51 to 80) or Strong (81 to 100).
Score bands
Both scores use the same 0 to 100 scale
Segment widths follow the size of each band, so the scale is drawn to proportion.
Critical
0 to 20
Weak
21 to 50
Moderate
51 to 80
Strong
81 to 100
The bands apply to each score separately, so you can be Strong on one and Weak on the other.
The four outcomes: where the two scores put you
Put the two scores together and you land in one of four places. Each one points to a different first move.
Weak to strong runs left to right for visibility and bottom to top for conversion readiness. Select a box to read the outcome.
Visibility weak, conversion strong
Ready but unseen
Your pages work, and nobody is arriving. The conversion signals are in place; the visibility is not.
What we lead with
Inbound and AEO are the priority, with outbound to lookalike accounts to bring people in while visibility builds.
Visibility strong, conversion strong
Compounding
Both halves are working. There is nothing to remediate, and the job is to defend the position as competitors catch on.
What we lead with
New industry pages, fresh answers to new buyer questions, and outbound extended to lookalike accounts.
Visibility weak, conversion weak
Unseen and leaking
Both scores are low. That is a common starting point, and it is a roadmap rather than an emergency.
What we lead with
Lead with visibility, because fixing conversion for traffic that never arrives achieves nothing. The conversion review runs alongside the new pages.
Visibility strong, conversion weak
Found but leaking
You are already winning attention and losing it at the page. This is the strongest case for action.
What we lead with
Fix conversion first. The traffic is arriving, so the page is where the gain is.
| Outcome | Visibility | Conversion | First move |
|---|---|---|---|
| Found but leaking | Strong | Weak | Fix conversion first |
| Compounding | Strong | Strong | Defend and extend |
| Unseen and leaking | Weak | Weak | Lead with visibility |
| Ready but unseen | Weak | Strong | Inbound and AEO first |
The four outcomes sort each score onto the weak or strong side of its scale. Critical and Weak count as weak and Strong counts as strong. A Moderate score is read in context, and the written audit says which side it falls on and why.
Visibility work is the AEO and GEO and SEO programme. Conversion work is the review described under design and conversion.
How the audit is researched
The audit runs in five steps, from a live crawl of your real pages to a ranked list of findings and a plain statement of what we could not check.
- 1
Step 1
Live crawl
Your real pages: markup, schema, headings, sitemap and internal links.
- 2
Step 2
Live AI test
Buyer questions without your name, put to live assistants. Every answer is recorded.
- 3
Step 3
Index data
Domain rating, keyword footprint, traffic history and AI citation counts, where the sources return them on the day.
- 4
Step 4
Real competitors
The companies that actually surfaced in those searches, measured with the same checks.
- 5
Step 5
Synthesis
Findings ranked by business consequence, what is working, and a limits section.
- Findings are ranked by consequence, not checklist order. A sitewide noindex outranks a missing image description every time.
- What passes is included. The audit lists what is working, not only what is broken.
- Questions are mixed on purpose. A local question, category questions, a problem-led question and a comparison, so one phrasing cannot flatter or sink the result.
Try the method yourself
You can see the same approach in short form before you talk to anyone, and read the research it comes from.
Free AI Visibility Checker
Check whether AI assistants name your business. It uses the same method in short form.
Run the free checker →Published research

What the audit cannot tell you
The audit is evidence about your visibility and your page signals. It is not a forecast, and it says so in a limits section of its own.
Conversion readiness is not a conversion rate
It is an assessment of what is visible in your page markup. We have no access to your analytics until an engagement starts, so we never state or imply a measured rate.
AI answers can change between runs
A live test is a snapshot of what the assistants said on the day. Re-testing the same questions over time is what shows a trend.
Index data depends on the day
Domain rating, keyword footprint, traffic history and AI citation counts are included only where the data sources return them on the day. Anything missing is listed, not estimated.
Competitors are only the ones that surfaced
We measure the companies that actually came up in the live searches. We never invent an industry average and never name a competitor that did not appear.
After the audit
The audit feeds the proposal: which direction to run (inbound, outbound or both) and what gets built first.
- How to get the audit: book a call with us. The audit is where every engagement starts, and the call covers it. The free checker above is the short version you can run first.
- See how an engagement runs from audit to launch on the engagement page.
- Compare the packages and billing options on the Pricing tab or the pricing page.
- Browse every service on the services hub, or look up a term on the glossary.
- Back to the documentation overview.
Method note: the free checker and the published research use the same approach of nameless buyer questions put to live assistants. The full audit adds the crawl, index data and competitor steps above.
